Public transportation…what’s that?

That’s the reaction Shira Lazar got when she asked Angelenos about the city’s Metro system. And let’s face it, when it comes to public transportation in LA, we aren’t exactly jumping out of our cars and heading to the nearest rail station. But as Shira discovered, public transportation not only helps make for a greener city, it might just take you where you want to go.

Shira jumped on the new Gold line, which runs from downtown Los Angeles to Pasadena.

Watch Shira’s trip, which begins in historic Union Station and ends in Old Pasadena, where the shopping options are not too shabby.
