Head to the Mat…but Which One?



We’ve got a battle brewing and it takes place on an exercise mat, but it’s
no wrestling match.

Rather, we wanted to know how if we could get a better workout by doing yoga or pilates. Both known to give an intense workout, but is one better than the other?

Shira Lazar headed directly to the sources — the pilates studio and yoga mat of course, to settle the debate.

Shira tracked down some Angelenos, who didn’t seem partial to either, though they did see distinctions between yoga’s soul-reaching aspects and pilates’ strengthening power.

But the real testtakers were yoga instructor Erica Kyriakatos, and pilates instructor Jacky Lee, who may have had a bias one way or another (can you blame them?) The two switched studios and told us what they thought of the other’s hobby. Check the video to see the results…
