Age-old traditions like tea parties and dress up have proved that children love to imitate adults. Combining those childhood games with family time can be a great way to bond with your kids.
This Mother’s Day, Jodie Fung took her daughter Kassi, to the Treehouse Social Club, a place where parents and tots can bond over games, tea, brunch, or even spa treatments like mani-pedis.
An afternoon at The Treehouse will give a new (extra precious) meaning to the phrase “ladies who lunch.”

Shira Lazar wanted to give her mother, Carrie, a special Mother’s Day treat, and she didn’t need to look much further than our Spotlight of the Week. The two headed to Hollywood’s Pantages Theater, where Caissie Levy talked about her run on the popular Broadway musical, Wicked, and the LA theater scene. Caissie is now starring as Elaphaba in the LA company of Wicked.

What’s a mother-son relationship without a little friendly competition? Nate Owens spent a sporty Mother’s Day at the Santa Monica Pier with his mom, who, we must say, is way better at the trapeze than her son.
That’s right. You can take trapeze lessons (not that Nate’s mom needs any) at Trapeze School New York — right on the pier. You can also have your pick between video games, rides, and other carnival staples like the ring toss game that Nate challenged his mom to.
If you’re one of those kids whose mom was way more excited about rollercoasters than you ever were, the Santa Monica pier may just be the perfect place to spend Mother’s Day…or any day after that.

Viviana Vigil took her mother, Polly, to Boule Atelier for the ultimate Mother’s Day treat — chocolate.
And the only thing better than eating chocolate is making it — start to finish. Viviana and her mom made ganaches with help from chocolatier, Jimin Chung.
Handmade gifts are great, and handmade chocolate is even better!
Not that we ever needed a reason to eat chocolate.

If your mom counts mani-pedis among her favorite things, take a page from Gardner Loulan and spend Mother’s Day at the spa.
Gardner and his mom, Joann, headed to Spa Luce, a traditional spa that just opened in Hollywood’s Renaissance Hotel. The two got pedicures together (something Gardner apparently has never experienced before) and Joanne was treated to a massage.
We’re sure any mom would appreciate a Mother’s Day trip to Spa Luce. Who doesn’t like to be pampered*?
